The New Zealand national cricket team, known as the Black Caps, made their Test debut in 1930 against England in Christchurch, becoming the fifth nation to play Test cricket. After waiting 26 years for their first Test win against the West Indies in 1956, they also played their first ODI in 1972–73 against Pakistan. New Zealand are the inaugural World Test Championship champions (2021) and have won the ICC Champions Trophy (2000). They have reached the Cricket World Cup final twice and the T20 World Cup final once.

Park up on the green embankments of Bay Oval and watch the BLACKCAPS take on Bangladesh in two T20Is on December 29 at 7pm and a New Year’s eve day game starting at 1pm on December 31.

Returning in the new year, the BLACKCAPS will take on South Africa in the opening Test of the series on February 4-8.

Tim Southee’s side drew a see-saw series against the Proteas in 2022 when Matt Henry took career-best figures 7-23 and Henry Nicholls made his 8th Test century in the opening Test before the visitors roared back in the second to claim a commanding victory by 198 runs.
