Chief Strategy Officer – New Zealand Cricket
New Zealand Cricket is breaking new ground in the effort to expand cricket and sporting achievement across the nation, with a vision for cricket to be New Zealand’s favourite game, Te tino kēmu a Aotearoa.
Working across the sporting landscape of New Zealand and international commercial environments, New Zealand Cricket is seeking an experienced Chief Strategy Officer to develop, implement and sustain strategic initiatives for NZC with an eye to innovating and producing new revenue streams. This role will be responsible for the development and creation of NZC’s 5 year strategic plan. In addition to pioneering organisational change and strategic innovation for NZC, the Chief Strategy Officer will also act as the financial steward for the organisation, leading financial reporting and planning functions.
Core Pillars of the role
- The Chief Strategy Officer will lead development of strategies and opportunities for innovation, to enhance our organisation, strategic project, capital projects and partnership opportunities, ensuring alignment with the Strategic Plan. The role will also Identify new and alternative strategic revenue opportunities, leveraging insights and trends to drive financial growth and sustainability. This could be new ventures, partnership opportunities, technology adoption, alternative ways to drive fan engagement, or other, to help drive new and alternative revenue opportunities
- The CSO provides financial leadership, direction and management of NZC, aligning business and finance strategy to grow the business and ensure long term financial sustainability. Responsible for giving financial and governance guidance to key stakeholders including the Board of Directors, Senior Leadership Team, MAs, CPA, ICC and Cricket Network.
- Reporting to the CEO and Board of New Zealand Cricket, this role will be the architect of cricket’s future, across investment opportunities and strategic roadmaps. The role will require extensive experience across wider corporate functions, and will preferably have experience in negotiation, M&A or management consulting.
- The successful candidate will have be a Chartered Accountant and have experience in managing financial reports as well as Board exposure.
