The New Zealand national cricket team, known as the Black Caps, made their Test debut in 1930 against England in Christchurch, becoming the fifth nation to play Test cricket. After waiting 26 years for their first Test win against the West Indies in 1956, they also played their first ODI in 1972–73 against Pakistan. New Zealand are the inaugural World Test Championship champions (2021) and have won the ICC Champions Trophy (2000). They have reached the Cricket World Cup final twice and the T20 World Cup final once.

An assessment has shown that, due to the considerable rainfall in Auckland over the past two months, Colin Maiden Park will not be fit to host List A cricket for at least the next fortnight – even if fine weather is experienced over this period.

This will impact the following fixtures:

24th November – Auckland Aces v Northern Districts (Ford Trophy)
26th November – Auckland Hearts v Wellington Blaze (HBJ Shield)
30th November – Auckland Aces v Otago Volts (Ford Trophy)
12th December – Auckland Aces v Central Stags (Ford Trophy)

In conjunction with the NZCPA and Major Associations, NZC is looking to reschedule these matches to prioritise the playing of cricket.

More information on the details of these fixtures will be shared as it becomes available.
