The New Zealand national cricket team, known as the Black Caps, made their Test debut in 1930 against England in Christchurch, becoming the fifth nation to play Test cricket. After waiting 26 years for their first Test win against the West Indies in 1956, they also played their first ODI in 1972–73 against Pakistan. New Zealand are the inaugural World Test Championship champions (2021) and have won the ICC Champions Trophy (2000). They have reached the Cricket World Cup final twice and the T20 World Cup final once.

The NZC home international summer kicks off in the south as Dunedin’s University of Otago Oval hosts the WHITE FERNS and Pakistan season opener.

Following their 37-run victory over Bangladesh in the first-ever women’s international T20 match in Dunedin last summer, the WHITE FERNS will be eager to get their bumper season off to a successful start with back-to-back T20Is on December 3 and 5.

The following week, the BLACKCAPS also open their home summer campaign at the Uni Oval as they begin their three-game ODI series against Bangladesh on Sunday December 17.

When the sides last met here in 2021, Trent Boult tore through the visiting top order claiming 4-27 to help the hosts to a commanding eight-wicket victory.

The BLACKCAPS will return south on January 17 for game three of their five-match T20I series against familiar foes Pakistan.

Pakistan will be returning to New Zealand full of confidence after taking out last year’s T20 Tri Series at Hagley Oval in Christchurch, as well as downing the BLACKCAPS in the ICC T20 World Cup semi-final in Sydney last November.

Secure your seats on the bank to be part of the intimate and exhilarating atmosphere Uni Oval has to offer.
