New Zealand Cricket
The New Zealand national cricket team, known as the Black Caps, made their Test debut in 1930 against England in Christchurch, becoming the fifth nation to play Test cricket. After waiting 26 years for their first Test win against the West Indies in 1956, they also played their first ODI in 1972–73 against Pakistan. New Zealand are the inaugural World Test Championship champions (2021) and have won the ICC Champions Trophy (2000). They have reached the Cricket World Cup final twice and the T20 World Cup final once.

We’re a passionate and enthusiastic team, committed to living and breathing our vision of cricket being a game for all New Zealanders; a game for life!

About NZC

New Zealand Cricket (NZC) is focused on ensuring that cricket is a game without barriers – a game that can be played anywhere, by anyone.  Whatever their individual circumstances, New Zealanders will be given every reason to celebrate and engage with cricket as their game.

We have a high-performance culture, underpinned by great people, systems and facilities helping to produce WHITE FERNS and BLACKCAPS that inspire the nation and represent the best of New Zealand’s values and culture.  NZC takes a global approach and perspective to all our activities to better the game in New Zealand.

WHITE FERNS PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Here’s an opportunity you won’t want to pass up. We seek expressions of interest in becoming the physiotherapist with the WHITE FERNS. You’ll be responsible for the effective diagnosis and management of injury and illness of all players and support staff on tour, coordinate the off-tour rehabilitation of the centrally contracted player group and contribute as an integral part of the WHITE FERNS management team.

This is an exciting role as you will be working alongside some of New Zealand’s best athletes, travelling the world, touring New Zealand, and contributing to the ongoing establishment of an optimal high performance environment where athletes are encouraged and challenged to the best they can be.

Ideally, you are passionate about sport, a NZ registered physiotherapist with experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, strength and conditioning programmes and working successfully with high performance athletes.

You’re well planned and organised and know how to engage others to get things done.  You care deeply about people and can adapt your style to suit many different styles and situations.

To join us, you’ll share our passion, focus and determination to make cricket a game for all New Zealanders; a game for life; and be energized by the role that you would play in that!

The role is a contract role with NZC.  We require a commitment of approximately 25 weeks per year on tour, with a varying schedule of home and away tours, plus camps. The off tour work would be in addition and approximately a day a week when not touring over the 12 month period.

Please apply through Seek today, including a cover letter outlining your interest in the role.

If this opportunity sounds of interest but you have a few questions or there are a few components of this you are unsure of, we still want to hear from you as we are open to discussions.  If you would like to have a confidential discussion regarding the role and how it is structured, ahead of applying then please email Liz Green, Head of Women’s High Performance at NZC on liz.green@nzc.nz.

Application Closing Date: 5pm, Monday 14 October 2024

Please note, all applicants must have the legal right to work and live in New Zealand.
