The next leg of Oman’s quest to qualify for the 2023 World Cup in India gets underway on February 5th, with a three match ODI series against the United Arab Emirates. The Oman Cricket Academy ground will play host to all three fixtures.
Having collected 29 points from a possible 40, Oman currently sit atop their qualification group in the ICC CWC League two (2019-2022). They enter this series in good form, on the back of a 9-run victory over Namibia last November.
With 7 points, the UAE are placed second bottom of the same group. However, they have played 13 fewer matches than the hosts and will look to get their qualification campaign on track in this series.
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions in the country, in-stadium seating is suspended for these games. Any pertinent change will be announced swiftly.
All the matches will be broadcasted live on icc.tv
The Oman squad for the three-match series against UAE includes: Zeeshan Maqsood (Captain), Jatinder Singh, Kashyupkumar, Mohammad Nadeem, Ayaan Khan, Sandeep Goud, Naseem Khushi (WK), Khawar Ali, Kaleemullah, Bilal Khan, Suraj Kumar (WK), Shoaib Khan, Aamir Kaleem, Wasim Ali; Support Staff: Duleep Mendis – Head Coach; Mazhar Khan – Assistant Coach; Zeeshan – Analyst; Evert – Trainer; Sean – Physio; Avishkar Salvi – Fast Bowling Coach.
