Oman Cricket has announced Level 1 Course for Umpires as part of its development programme; Oman Cricket is scheduled to conduct a week long Level 1 course for Umpires from 22 Nov 2021 until 29th Nov 2021.
A. R. Srinivasan, Oman Cricket’s Umpires Development Officer and Educator, the only certified Level 0, Level 1 and Level 2 Educator in the country, will conduct the course for those Umpires who completed their Level 0 certification in 2018 and 2020. In all 22 Umpires will be attending the course.
The Level 1 course will be conducted at the Oman Cricket Academy building from 7.00 pm to 9.30 pm from 22 Nov 2021 to 25 Nov 2021 followed by full day sessions on 28 Nov 2021. On the last day of the course, 29th Nov 2021, a written exam will be held followed by on-field exam in a match that will be played between two senior teams.
All those who complete the course successfully, will be eligible to officiate in all formats of the game organised by Oman Cricket, except in the Premier Division, A Division and Under 19 tournaments.
Oman is the only ICC affiliate nation to have 24 Level 2 Umpires and with this Level 1 course, when completed, will have the highest number of Level 1 Umpires as well.
