PARIA Fuel Trading Company Ltd has officially joined forces with cricketing icon and celebrated author Brian Lara in a transformative initiative aimed at nurturing education and sports among young people.
As part of this collaboration, Paria has acquired a commendable 600 copies of Lara’s latest publication, Lara, the England Chronicles, for distribution to schools in close proximity to its Pointe-a-Pierre operations.
In a press statement released on January 13, Paria emphasized, “This sponsorship is focused on igniting a love for reading, learning, and cricket enthusiasm among students. The book provides an insightful account of Mr. Lara’s extraordinary career, serving as a motivational testament to dedication and excellence.”
Expressing his enthusiasm for the partnership, Lara stated, “I am thrilled about this collaboration and its potential. It’s essential for me that these books reach schoolchildren eager to learn about my journey. I extend my gratitude to Paria for this incredible opportunity and for their invaluable contribution to this endeavor.”
The initial school visits took place on January 8, covering San Fernando Central Secondary School, Pointe-a-Pierre Government Primary School, and VOS Government Primary School.
As Lara entered the schools, he was met with roars of “Lara, Lara, Lara” from excited students. He took time to sign books and engage with both learners and teachers, with several fortunate students even having the opportunity to read excerpts from his book aloud to him.
Lara also paid a visit to Paria’s headquarters, sharing his personal experiences with the leadership team, as well as the 2024 captains of the company’s inter-department cricket teams.
Through this initiative, Paria aims to inspire the ambitions of young minds, encouraging them to set lofty goals and take pride in representing their community. The company firmly believes that Lara’s journey will serve as a powerful catalyst for motivation and personal development among students.
