The Professional Cricketers' Association (PCA), founded in 1967 by former England fast bowler Fred Rumsey as the Cricketers' Association, represents past and present first-class cricketers in England and Wales. In the 1970s, the PCA established a standard employment contract and minimum wage for professional cricketers. It also helped create a pension scheme in 1995 and launched the magazine All Out Cricket and the ACE UK Educational Programme in 2002.

Complete 5km this May and donate £5 to the players’ charity.

Support the Professional Cricketers’ Trust this month by taking on 5k May in aid of the players’ charity.

The national fundraising campaign encourages participants to run, walk, swim, cycle or even roll 5km, before donating £5 to charity and encouraging five friends to do the same.

All proceeds raised from our campaign will go to the Professional Cricketers’ Trust, supporting PCA members and their immediate families in their times of need.

How to get involved:

  • Step 1: Complete 5km by whatever means possible
  • Step 2: Visit our dedicated JustGiving page to donate to the Trust
  • Step 3: Share your achievement on social media, whether it’s TwitterInstagramFacebook or any other platform
  • Step 4: Nominate five friends to do the same and spread the word as far and wide as you can
  • Step 5: Enjoy a well-earned rest!

TAKE PART AND DONATE

We would encourage you to get as much of the cricket community involved in 5k May as you possibly can, whether it’s via your dressing room, through reaching out to former teammates, or by sending a message out to members of your local cricket club.

The Trust is reliant on your generous support to continue carrying out its life-changing – and often live-saving – work on behalf of PCA members.

During the first quarter of 2021, the charity has already supported 25 new cases, and a total of 59 individuals are currently receiving assistance, including 29 current players.

Those figures build on a record-breaking 2020, during which the Trust supported 94 cases in the area of mental health alone, an all-time high figure which brought the total number of individuals supported since 2015 up to 426.

So, please consider going out and completing 5k May in aid of the Trust this month. A small charity like ours really does value your support.
