PCB appoints Tim Nielsen as Pakistan’s Test high-performance coach before Bangladesh series

Must Read

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed former Australian head coach Tim Nielsen as the high-performance coach for the Test team. Nielsen will collaborate with head coach Jason Gillespie for the upcoming two-Test series against Bangladesh.

The two coaches have a history of working together in South Australia. Nielsen, who served as Australia’s head coach from 2007 to 2011, led the team to victory in the 2010 Champions Trophy in South Africa. He also had a notable domestic career in South Africa, playing 101 first-class and 49 List-A matches, and accumulating over 3,800 first-class runs and 639 List-A runs as a wicket-keeper.

Despite his domestic success, Nielsen, originally from England, never played for Australia at the international level. Currently, Nielsen has joined forces with Gillespie in Pakistan, where they are jointly overseeing the Pakistan Shaheen training camp in preparation for the Test series against Bangladesh.
