Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), is set to attend an important ICC board meeting in Dubai.

Naqvi left Lahore early on Monday morning after inspecting the ongoing construction work at Gaddafi Stadium.

In addition to attending the meeting, the PCB chairman is expected to engage in discussions with officials from the Indian Cricket Board. The meeting’s agenda will focus on preparations for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy, where Naqvi will provide an update on the progress being made.

Since October 19, Pakistan has been represented at the ICC meetings by Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer. Today’s final board meeting is considered crucial, particularly regarding Pakistan’s role as the host of the upcoming ICC event. Naqvi will brief the board on renovation efforts at Gaddafi Stadium, National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi, and Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

ICC delegations have already expressed satisfaction with the construction progress in Pakistan, confirming that the country is on track for the high-profile tournament. The board has also approved the event’s budget, further strengthening Pakistan’s preparations.

The 2025 ICC Champions Trophy will take place from February 19 to March 9, with a reserve day on March 10. Pakistan will compete in Group A with India, Bangladesh, and New Zealand, while Group B includes England, South Africa, Australia, and Afghanistan.

Matches will be held in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. Lahore will host seven games, including the final on March 9, with Karachi hosting the tournament opener and a semi-final, and Rawalpindi hosting five matches, including the other semi-final.
