PCB designates Rs7.7 billion for Gaddafi Stadium overhaul ahead of 2025 Champions Trophy

Pakistan will host the 2025 Champions Trophy, marking the first time in years the country will stage an ICC event.

Preparations are underway, with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) allocating Rs12.8 billion for upgrading stadiums in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi to meet international standards.

During a recent Board of Governors meeting in Faisalabad, updates on construction work and stadium expenditures were provided.

Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will receive the largest investment of Rs7.7 billion. This includes Rs1,100 million for a steel-structured pavilion, Rs3,471 million for a concrete office building, Rs1,250 million for a steel enclosure, Rs189 million for a moat, and Rs330 million for two new LED digital screens. 

Replacing the floodlights with 480 LED lights will cost Rs523 million, Rs375 million is set aside for seat installation, and Rs93 million for external developments.

National Bank Stadium in Karachi will see construction costs of Rs3.5 billion. This includes Rs1,500 million for a steel pavilion structure, Rs580 million for renovations to the main building and hospitality boxes, Rs330 million for two new LED digital screens, Rs490 million for 450 LED floodlights, and Rs340 million for new seating.

Pindi Stadium in Rawalpindi will undergo Rs1.5 billion in renovations. This includes Rs393 million for 350 LED floodlights, Rs400 million for building and hospitality box renovations, Rs330 million for two LED digital screens, and Rs272 million for seating installations.
