Lahore, 14 January 2020: The media accreditation process for the HBL Pakistan Super League 2020 is now open and will close on Sunday, 26 January 2020, at 5pm (PST) following which the PCB will not entertain any requests.

The respected members of the media can apply for accreditation online by clicking here. The media terms and conditions are attached herewith for reference, although the online system also requires the applicants to accept these before submitting their requests for grant of accreditation.

Please note given that limited venue capacity requires a robust and transparent selection process for approvals, submitting an application does not guarantee accreditation. Furthermore, and again due to limited space in the media working areas, preference will be given to media of the match-hosting city.

Non-Rights Holders (NRHs) camerapersons will be accredited for the tournament, but only reporters will be able to access in-stadia media facilities as filming on match days is strictly prohibited unless expressly approved by the PCB. However, as part of the PCB’s services to the media, NRH TV camerapersons on match days will be housed at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore and Hanif Mohammad High Performance Centre in Karachi.

It is clarified the NRH TV news channels will be allowed to film non-match day activities, including training sessions, player interviews, pre-match media conferences and recording of pieces to camera.

To facilitate the NRH TV news channels on match days, the PCB will provide unedited broadcast quality post-match press conferences.

For bloggers and social media reporters, the PCB will only accredit those with an accumulated following of 100K. Furthermore, and more importantly, the bloggers and social media reporters must have covered/attended the ongoing 2019-20 domestic cricket season organized by PCB and also the recently concluded home international matches against Sri Lanka.

Leading and influential cricket websites will be granted accreditation, however in accordance with the Media Terms and Conditions, they will not be allowed to provide live coverage, including ball-by-ball commentary, from inside the venue.

Only those freelancers will be accredited who provide valid assignment letters.

The PCB reserves its right to take action against any journalist found in breach of the HBL PSL 2020 rights protection policy.

The PCB, in its absolute discretion, may decline any request that is incomplete or where the assignment letter required has not been issued by the Editor, Assignment Editor or Sports Editor.

For the HBL PSL 2020, the PCB will accredit the media as per the criteria below:

  1. A maximum of two reporters and two photographers from international and local news agencies
  2. A maximum of two reporters and two photographers from leading national dailies
  3. A maximum of two reporters from leading non-rights holding TV news channels
  4. A maximum of two reporters and two photographers from world-renowned, popular and influential cricket websites
  5. One reporter and one photographer from city/regional/community dailies
  6. One reporter from city/regional/community non-rights holding TV news channels
  7. One reporter from non-rights holding radio channels
  8. One reporter and one photographer from weekly/monthly cricket magazines
  9. Social media influencers and bloggers with an accumulated following of, at least, 100K across all platforms and must have covered cricket in the ongoing 2019-20 season
