PCB players and execs holding “Connection Camp” after Bangladesh loss

Must Read

According to reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will host a ‘Connection Camp’ on September 22 in response to the national team’s recent Test series loss to Bangladesh

The meeting will involve top officials and players discussing strategies for improvement. This decision follows Pakistan’s 0-2 defeat in Rawalpindi, marking a significant low for the team.

The ‘Connection Camp’ will be attended by key figures such as white-ball head coach Gary Kirsten, Test coach Jason Gillespie, senior players, and other officials from both international and domestic circuits. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi will lead the meeting.

The discussion is expected to address potential changes in captaincy across all formats. Pakistan’s cricket performance has been declining, with the team failing to advance to the knockout stages of the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup and the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup.

Following successive Test losses to Bangladesh at home, Pakistan has dropped to eighth in the latest ICC Test Rankings, its lowest position since 1965.

In related news, there are reports that Babar Azam, the current captain of Pakistan’s white-ball teams, may be removed from his leadership role. He was not included in the list of captains for the upcoming Champions One Day Cup.

This development comes ahead of Pakistan’s tour to Australia and has led to speculation about a possible change in leadership.
