There’s a few reasons why the Perth Scorchers just love to beat the Brisbane Heat…
“Boof (Darren Lehman) is one of my favourite coaches and he’s a great friend of mine,” Mitch Marsh said of the Heat’s new Head Coach and former Australian Coach.
“Our relationship was always very cheeky and tongue-in-cheek so hopefully we can beat them and I can get stuck into him which would be great.”
Brisbane are one game ahead of Perth in head-to-head’s in the KFC Big Bash League’s history, and they sit one spot above the Scorchers on the 2019-20 BBL ladder.
Then the Heat Captain, Chris Lynn, went and ‘stole’ the lead run-scorer status of retired Scorchers legend Maxy Klinger this summer and Marsh and the boys don’t want to give Lynn anymore airtime this week.
“Chris Lynn, we know how good a player he is and how dangerous he can be, he’ll be a key wicket for us,” Marsh said.
Finally, that pesky big-hitting partnership between Lynn and Brendon McCullum is no more.
“McCullum is a big loss both as a player and a captain… I’m glad there’s no more Bash Brothers, or whatever they were called!” Marsh said.
