Perth’s first home match of the season will showcase WA Cricket’s commitment to the rich Aboriginal cricket culture and celebrate it through the sport at all levels.Players from both teams will form a Barefoot Circle before the match to acknowledge and pay respects to all the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of the land we stand on.

The act also shows a commitment to reconciliation, ongoing education and working together toward a connected country.

The Scorchers will also welcome Dr Richard Walley back to Optus Stadium to lead a Welcome to Country, while fans will be treated to two amazing live performances by Aboriginal musical duo Gina and Guy, pre-match and at the innings break.

Perth will proudly wear a uniquely designed Indigenous playing kit designed by WA artist Kevin Bynder across all four home matches at Optus Stadium.

At the core of the Indigenous strip is a story of inspiring the confidence to dream big, with pathways interconnecting the youth cricketers with the Perth Scorchers.

The strip also pays tribute to the tribal area of the Whadjuk people, the traditional owners of the land surrounding the iconic WACA Ground.
