WA-born batter Chloe Piparo has recommitted her future to Perth, signing a new two-year deal that will keep her in orange until at least the end of the Weber WBBL|10 season.

The elegant right-hander has been a mainstay of the Scorchers’ line-up since first joining the Club ahead of WBBL|01.
She played a telling role in Perth’s maiden WBBL championship in WBBL|07, defeating Adelaide Strikers by 12 runs before a record-breaking crowd of 15,511 at Optus Stadium.
Piparo is excited to extend her stay with the Scorchers, highlighting loyalty and her connection with the playing group as the motivation for recommitting.
“I am super excited to sign on with the club for another two seasons. I love what we have built here, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds,” Piparo said.
“We have a great blend of youth and experience within our local players, and I think our connection away from the field will lead to further success on field which is something I’m keen to be part of.”
Piparo produced one of her finest performances for the Scorchers during WBBL|08, combining superbly with prolific opener Beth Mooney for an unbroken 129-run second-wicket stand to guide her team to a dominant nine-wicket victory over Sydney Sixers.
Known for consistency and longevity over her career, Piparo is one of only two players in Club history to play more than 100 WBBL matches for the Scorchers, with the 29-year-old passing former teammate Heather Graham on Perth’s all-time list for WBBL games played last season.
It is an achievement Piparo reflects on with pride.
“To play 100 games for the Scorchers is very satisfying, and something I will look back on very fondly after my career has finished,” she said.
Despite her experience, Piparo believes she has more to offer the Scorchers and remains as motivated as ever to improve ahead of another WBBL campaign.
“I probably haven’t really found my groove in the T20 format, it’s something I have worked really hard on over the last couple of years,” Piparo said.
“Hopefully, I can produce plenty of runs for the Scorchers this season.”
Piparo – WA’s full-time captain and one of two remaining inaugural Scorchers, alongside Piepa Cleary – is also excited to mentor the next wave of Scorchers,
“Piepa and I have played plenty of cricket and shared a lot of experiences together, but for us it’s about providing guidance and mentorship to the generation coming through,” she said.
“The younger players within our group really motivate and inspire us to get better, so we want to do anything we can to give those girls the best chance to be great cricketers and great people too.”
