There will be no shortage of Perth Scorchers players on show during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, with three star Scorchers named in Australia’s 15-player squad for the marquee tournament.

Allrounders Ashton Agar and Mitch Marsh will join keeper-batter Josh Inglis in Aussie colours as the reigning champions aim to defend their status as T20 World Champions on home soil.

The same trio was part of the squad for Australia’s breakthrough ICC Men’s T20 World Cup title in the United Arab Emirates last year.

Australia’s first task is to overcome New Zealand at the SCG on 22 October, before Agar, Inglis and Marsh return to familiar surrounds at Perth Stadium on 25 October for a clash with the winner of the Group A qualification pool.

Group games against England (28 October, MCG), the Group B qualification pool runner-up (31 October, Gabba) and Afghanistan (4 November, Adelaide Oval) will follow.

Another Perth Scorchers allrounder, Cameron Green, will replace David Warner in the same squad of 15 for Australia’s three-game T20 Tour of India later this month.
