Major League Cricket (MLC), now well into its third season, has secured a significant broadcast partnership with Premier Sports in the UK—and it’s poised to elevate the MLC’s global footprint.
Premier Sports brings America’s T20 league to UK screens
Between June 13 and July 15, Premier Sports will broadcast all 34 matches of the MLC season, according to media reports. Matches will stream live on Premier Sports’ digital platform and be shown “as-live” on its linear TV channels the following day, catering to UK viewers as many fixtures occur in the early hours due to time zone differences.
This marks a major step in giving UK cricket fans direct access to America’s professional T20 league.
Global stars, US franchises
MLC features six city-based franchises from Dallas, San Francisco, New York, Seattle, Los Angeles, and Washington DC. Each team includes some of the world’s top T20 players, including Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, Andre Russell, Heinrich Klaasen, Nicholas Pooran, David Warner, and Sunil Narine.
The presence of this level of international talent has been central to MLC’s appeal and rapid global growth.
No scheduling conflict with The Hundred
The MLC’s calendar has been carefully adjusted to avoid overlapping with The Hundred in England. After a clash in 2024, the new schedule ensures fans and players can follow and participate in both tournaments without conflict.
A milestone for MLC’s global strategy
This UK broadcast deal adds to MLC’s expanding global footprint. With distribution already in place through Willow TV in North America, Star Sports and JioCinema in India, ESPN in the Caribbean, Cricbuzz in MENA, Sky NZ, and A Sports in Pakistan, the Premier Sports agreement further solidifies MLC’s place in the international cricket calendar.
By securing this presence in the UK, one of cricket’s most mature markets, MLC reinforces its ambition to become a globally relevant T20 league.
