The Brisbane Heat has welcomed a new sponsor into the club’s family today with the announcement of Primo Foods as an Official Partner.

Primo will support the Heat as part of a two-year sponsorship where the Primo name and brand will live on some of the club’s key apparel and signage assets including the playing cap, helmet, grass signage, and training range.

True to the Heat’s ‘One Club, Two Teams’ mantra, Primo’s sponsorship will cover both the Heat’s KFC Big Bash League and Weber Women’s Big Bash League teams for the next two summers.

From humble beginnings as a butcher shop, Primo is now a household name, holding market leading positions across multiple brands, in multiple categories from Smallgoods to Cheese Snacking. They are passionate and committed to the people they serve and the teams they work with. From Aussie families who enjoy the great taste of their food every day, to the charity and community partners, and to all the amazing people who work for the company, they are a passionate and proud organization who value communities, connection and bringing families together with their products.

Members of the Heat’s WBBL and BBL teams were on hand to announce the partnership to Primo staff at their Wacol factory earlier today.

Brisbane Heat CEO Terry Svenson welcomed Primo into the club’s family.

“Primo are an iconic Australian brand and we are delighted to announce a new two-year partnership between our organisations.

“The Brisbane Heat’s values are built on making the WBBL and BBL inspiring, entertaining, and accessible to Australian families, which aligns perfectly with Primo’s audience. Every day they feed hundreds of thousands of Australian families, and Primo products are found in school lunch boxes across the country, so we feel privileged and well positioned to partner with such a great brand.

“Throughout the establishment of this partnership it was clear both the Heat and Primo are aligned on creating strong links with our communities, so we are excited to develop initiatives that will create a positive difference to our staff and communities through areas such as the Queensland Cricket Foundation.

“We are extremely thankful to Primo for this partnership that allows us to reinvest back into the community to get more boys and girls playing cricket.

“The Heat are in a strong position to succeed both on and off the field this summer. We have worked hard in the off-season to build squads and team cultures and will produce winning performances on the field, while off the field, the Heat will continue to be leaders in match-day entertainment to help us deliver big attendances, TV viewership and digital engagement. We are delighted and excited to share this success with Primo and all our sponsors.”

Bruce Sabatta, Primo COO also expressed enthusiasm and support over the 2-year partnership deal

“From the team here at Primo Foods, we are excited to embark on this partnership with Brisbane Heat and Queensland Cricket. Our businesses are very well aligned; cricket is no doubt a huge part of the Australian way of life and Primo is a brand loved by Aussies, from school lunchboxes, to daytime snacks and to family dinners. We bring families together with Primo. This partnership also provides the perfect opportunity for us to continue to drive our community programs and initiatives via The Queensland Cricket Foundation.”

Today’s announcement also saw the unveiling of a Primo-owned picket at the Heat’s HQ at Allan Border Field as part of the QC Foundation’s Buy a Picket campaign.

The addition of Primo to the Heat partner group rounds out all apparel assets for the club this season where they join Principal Partner Great Southern Bank, Major Partner Betta Home Living, and National Storage as Heat apparel sponsors this summer.

The Heat’s WBBL campaign gets underway in Mackay on Thursday October 13 in the season opener against the Sydney Sixers before hosting another five home games across Great Barrier Reef Arena and Allan Border Field in Brisbane.

The Heat’s will launch their BBL season in Cairns on Thursday December 15 as part of a 7-game home stretch across Cazaly’s Stadium, the Gabba and Metricon Stadium, with this summer’s schedule including an inaugural New Year’s Day marquee match.
