Queensland Premier Cricket’s T20 Max competition has generated a new upgraded sponsorship deal with KFC

The new two-year sponsorship will deliver to KFC the naming rights for the T20 Max and Queensland Premier Cricket competition, as well as being an official partner of Queensland Cricket and the Brisbane Heat.

Queensland Cricket and Brisbane Heat CEO Terry Svenson welcomed the renewed partnership with KFC, a long-time supporter of cricket in the State.

“Our relationship with KFC in Queensland stretches back more than 15 years and we are thrilled to extend that partnership for another two years,’’ he said.

“KFC were there at the start to back the concept of the T20 Max competition and we congratulate them for supporting the vision of what has rapidly become an important part of the Australian Cricket landscape.”

“The Brisbane Heat and other Big Bash clubs have benefitted greatly through the opportunities created for players in the T20 Max and we are sure that more great success stories, like Spencer Johnson and Josh Brown, will emerge again this year,” Svenson said.

Adam Pretorius, Head of Marketing and Supply Chain, Collins Food Limited highlighted the ongoing commitment from KFC.

“KFC and cricket is synonymous in Queensland and we’re once again proud to partner with Queensland Cricket for the next two seasons,’’ he said.

“We can’t wait to build on the existing partnership and are excited to create engaging and memorable experiences for players and fans both on and off the field.”

Today’s announcement coincided with confirmation that for the third year in a row, Kayo would stream games during this month’s competition, with 11 games to be broadcast including the Finals.

Foxtel Group Executive Director – Commercial, Sport, Rebecca McCloy, said Kayo Sports continued to be the home of cricket in Australia.

“Cricket fans have everything they need on Kayo Sports including the best Australian domestic and international Test, ODI and T20 series, BBL, WBBL, Women’s internationals and more.

“We’re pleased to again make KFC T20 Max available to all Australians via our Kayo Freebies platform ahead of an exciting summer of cricket just around the corner,” she said.

Matches will again be streamed through the FrogBox platform, with Zac Goodchild, Head of Commercial Operations at FrogBox, welcoming the renewal of the broadcasting deal.

“The KFC T20 Max competition has been growing each year, and we are proud to contribute through high-quality broadcast production.

“These broadcasts are crucial for expanding the game’s fanbase, both locally and globally,” he said.

The third edition of the KFC T20 Max competition will get underway during national Play Cricket Week from Monday 19 August, with the women’s competitions starting on Wednesday 21 August and the men’s competition underway from Thursday 22 August.

Matches will be played at Allan Border Field and Ian Healy Oval as well as Premier Cricket venues, with the women’s Final held on Wednesday 4 September and the men’s Final on Saturday 7 September.

Squads are being finalised by clubs with guest international and interstate players joining contracted Brisbane Heat BBL and WBBL players, Queensland Bulls and Queensland Fire squad members and Premier cricket players.

The opportunities to shine in the pre-season will be extended to officials, with current Cricket Australia National Panel umpires Shawn Craig (Vic) and Sharad Patel (NSW) joining Premier Cricket umpires to officiate during the competition.
