Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Rashid Latif has urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to push for a larger share of the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) total revenue.
Latif highlighted the financial imbalances within international cricket, emphasizing the significant revenue Pakistan generates through high-profile matches. He noted that the PCB currently receives only 6% of the ICC’s total revenue, a figure he believes is unfairly low considering Pakistan’s major contributions to the sport.
He argued that the PCB should secure at least 15% of the total revenue to better reflect Pakistan’s importance in international cricket. Latif emphasized the substantial earnings from Pakistan vs. India matches, which are some of the most viewed and commercially lucrative events, driving significant revenue for the ICC.
Based on this, he contended that the PCB deserves a greater share of the profits compared to traditional cricketing powerhouses like Australia and England.
