Did you get envious of the nine Betway SA20 fans who claimed their share of R2-million during Season 1? Well, buy your tickets now and you have the chance to join them…

With Betway SA20 set to make an exciting return starting on 10 January 2024 , title sponsors of the competition, Betway, are excited to once again be taking the stakes higher, as the globally acclaimed sports betting and entertainment brand proudly announces the return of the Betway Catch R2 Million campaign.

The innovative addition to the League was an outstanding success  in Season 1, with nine fans getting their share of the R2 Million prize money through a one-handed clean catch off a six during all of the League’s matches.

Betway SA20 League Commissioner, Graeme Smith, says elevating the fan experience is an important priority for Season 2 of the League.

“Fan engagement is at the heart of every great sporting event, and the Betway Catch R2 million competition is no exception,” Smith said. “The excitement that the competition brought to the fans in Season 1 was unmatched, we saw how the Catch R2 million fever spread across the six stadiums and beyond, it’s fantastic to have it back for Season 2.  It not only adds an extra element of thrill to the game but also gives fans a unique opportunity to actively participate in the action and stand a chance to win a life-changing reward. I’m looking forward to seeing how the catching goes this season.”

Betway Head of Marketing, Mark Rowles, said they were excited to be at the forefront of Betway SA20 and spearheading innovative initiatives that are in line with the brand’s passion for sport and fan engagement.

“As proud sponsors of Betway SA20, we are excited to be leveraging off the huge success of the inaugural edition, which saw fans directly engaging with the Betway brand. Seeing the huge success that came with the Betway Catch R2 Million campaign for fans in stadia and viewers at home, we are excited to bring it back for the second edition of Betway SA20. We therefore urge fans to come in numbers, and more importantly, increase their chances of doubling their prize money by opening up a Betway account. In addition to the Catch R2 Million campaign, in the week of the opening fixture, we will be launching an exciting new promotion called “Game of Zones,” said Rowles.

Fans are reminded of this important rule of the competition:

The catch must be a clean one-handed catch and not have touched anything more than the palm of the spectator (person who catches the ball). This means that the ball cannot come off a hat, umbrella, another hand, shoulder chest, or juggled either between hands or on one hand.
