The Pretoria Capitals and head coach Graham Ford have parted ways for Betway SA20 Season 3.
Ford led the Capitals to top of the group stage in Season 1 before his team comfortably progressed to the inaugural final with a 29-run victory over the Paarl Royals in the first semi-final at The Wanderers.
The Capitals eventually finished runners-up in Season 1 after a four-wicket defeat to the Sunrisers Eastern Cape.
Unfortunately for the Capitals, they had premier fast bowler Anrich Nortje ruled out due to a back injury for the entire Season 2 campaign.
Nortje was a major loss after finishing as the joint leading wicket-taker in Season 1 with 20 scalps.
The ‘Uitenhage Express’ was severely missed as the Capitals missed out on qualification for the Season 2 playoffs on the last day of the group stage to cross-town rivals Joburg Super Kings.
“After serving as head coach of the Pretoria Capitals since its inception days, Graham Ford has decided to step away,” the Capitals said.
“We thank him earnestly for his services and wish him luck for the future.”
Ford, 63, was recently on duty in the Lanka Premier League where he led the Galle Marvels to the runners-up position.
