SLC: Dasun Shanaka fined for showing dissent to on-field umpire

The captain of the Dambulla Aura, Dasun Shanaka, has been fined for showing dissent to the on-field umpire during a LPL game played between the Dambulla Aura and Colombo Stars on December 8, 2022, at MRICS, Hambantota.


Accordingly, the Match Referee has imposed a US $3,000 fine on the player, which is equivalent to 40 percent of his match fee, along with two demerit points.


The player has admitted the offense, which is a breach of Article 2.8 of the LPL Code of Conduct and is treated as a Level 1 offense.
