In the backdrop of Sri Lanka Cricket’s existing contract for media and sponsorship rights coming to an end on 31st March 2020, SLC launched three separate tender processes for television and radio rights (broadcasting) rights, digital rights and production services in respect of the ICC Men’s Future Tour Programme for the period 2020- 23, by issuing three separate invitations calling for expressions of interest on the 24th December 2019.

On 31st January 2020 SLC issued three separate invitations to tender for television/ radio rights, digital rights and production services respectively,  to qualifying participants who had submitted expressions of interest. In response, bids were submitted by several interested parties for the said rights on 20th February 2020.

Having evaluated the said bids in the presence and under the observation of representatives of the ICC and other independent parties in a transparent process, SLC is of the view that SLC could obtain better value for its television, radio and digital rights by combining the tenders for the said rights into a single consolidated tender process for television, radio and digital rights.

In the said context, SLC has decided to withdraw the invitations to tender issued for television and radio (broadcasting) rights and digital rights respectively on 31st January 2020 and will relaunch a combined tender process for television, radio and digital rights.

SLC’s evaluation of the bids for production services is still underway.

SLC will invite expressions of interest for the new tender for television, radio and digital rights on 1 March 2020.

SLC will also be launching a parallel tender process for its ground rights by inviting expressions of interest on 1st March 2020.
