SLC: Sri Lanka to host Bangladesh U19 during October 2021

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is the governing body for cricket in Sri Lanka. Originally registered as the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka on June 30, 1975, it was renamed Sri Lanka Cricket in 2003.

Sri Lanka Cricket will host the Bangladesh U19 Team during October 2021 for a limited-over series.

The Bangladesh U19s will arrive on the 07th October 2021 and will play 05 ODIs with Sri Lanka U19s during the tour, which will be played under a Bio Bubble Environment.

“The upcoming series will give the U19 team an opportunity to play international cricket after a while, and help us to work on finding the right combination to play in the U19 World Cup in 2022,’’ said Avishka Gunawardene, the newly appointed U19 Coach of Sri Lanka.

In the meantime, Sri Lanka U19 squad is currently undergoing a Residential U19 Training Program in Colombo focusing on Future Tours.

Avishka Gunawardene (Head Coach), Upul Chandana (Fielding Coach), Sachith Pathirana (Spin Bowling Coach), Chamila Gamage (Fast Bowling Coach), and Dhammika Sudarshana (Batting Coach) are .currently working with the U19 squad focusing on the U19 World Cup to be held in 2022.

Apart from the above, Priyantha Wickremesinghe (Physiotherapist) and Buddhika Herath (Trainer) are also working with the squad.
