Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is the governing body for cricket in Sri Lanka. Originally registered as the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka on June 30, 1975, it was renamed Sri Lanka Cricket in 2003.

Sri Lanka Cricket handed over the promised US$30,000 to the national rugby team, which elevated it to the top tier of the Asian Rugby circle by winning the Asia Rugby Division 1 Championship, which was played recently.
The handing over of the reward was done recently during a felicitation dinner hosted for the National Rugby Team by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.
The recognition was accepted by the Honorable Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Harin Fernando, in the presence of Mr. K Mahesan, Secretary, Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Dr. Shemal Fernando, Director General, Department of Sports Development, and Group Captain Nalin de Silva, President, Sri Lanka Rugby.
The handing over of the cheque was done by Mr. Upul Nawaratne Bandara, the Head of Marketing at Sri Lanka Cricket.
