Sri Lanka Cricket to launch the Women’s National Super League

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is the governing body for cricket in Sri Lanka. Originally registered as the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka on June 30, 1975, it was renamed Sri Lanka Cricket in 2003.

Sri Lanka Cricket, for the first time, will launch the Women’s National Super League (WNSL).

Both the 50 over competition and the T20 Tournament will be held back to back during the Month of February 2024.
The 50 over tournament, which will start on February 6, is a major elevation for women’s cricket in the country, as they get to compete in the country’s Elite Domestic Competition.

The tournament will see four teams competing, namely Colombo, Kandy, Dambulla and Galle. Competing and performing well in the Women’s National Super League will enable players to graduate to national recognition. 60 players will be in action during the competition, which will be played in Colombo.

Following the completion of the 50 over tournament, the T20 competition of the WNSL will follow;
