Dear members and fans,

We are excited to share the recent advocacy we have been undertaking that aims to vastly improve your experience traveling to and from games and events at the SCG.

The Sydney Sixers, along with other sporting organisations, have been advocating for the retention of on grass event day parking at Moore Park. We’ve had a great win for fans and members, with the NSW Government agreeing to retain parking until at least 2028 or longer if there is no satisfactory alternate transport plans, including parking in the precinct, in place by that stage. This was a hard-fought win and focussed on ensuring our games remain as accessible as possible for all, especially those people who don’t have a viable public transport option to get to the SCG.

In addition to the retention of parking, we have also been focussed on improving public transport to the precinct, by advocating for the extension of the proposed Metro West line to include a station at Moore Park. This concerted effort marks a significant step towards enhancing accessibility and convenience for our dedicated fans, ensuring you have a smoother and more enjoyable journey to support your team. This was recently covered by the Daily Telegraph and Channel 7 news.

In a recent letter to NSW Premier Chris Minns, we, as part of the Alliance of Moore Park Sports (AMPS), expressed our strong support for the Metro West extension. Our proposal aims to efficiently manage the transport of over 40,000 fans per hour, significantly reducing traffic congestion and facilitating easier and faster access to and from our venues.

Whether you want to drive, catch public transport or walk, we have a united front that underscores our commitment to you, our valued members, and spectators, ensuring that everyone has equitable access to world-class sport and entertainment at Moore Park. This initiative is not just about improving infrastructure; it’s about improving your access, and your overall experience, ensuring that every match or event is memorable for all the right reasons.

If you want to help us make this vision a reality, feel free to contact your local State MP, emphasising that our world-class sporting venues at Moore Park deserve world-class transport that Metro would provide.

You can find the contact details of your local State MP here

Thank you for your ongoing support, and here’s to many more incredible cricket moments at Moore Park!
