The Sydney Sixers are pleased to announce a new principal partner ahead of KFC BBL|12, joining forces with one of Australia’s largest super funds, Aware Super.

One of Australia’s leading super funds, Aware Super manages about $150 billlion on behalf of more than 1.1 million members across the nation.

Built on shared core values, a strong sense of social responsibility and a powerful winning culture, the new partnership is aligned far beyond the shade of magenta that represents both brands.

Leaders in their respective fields, the Sixers and Aware Super are united in their quest for team success.

Five-time champions across the WBBL and BBL, the Sixers have cultivated a winning culture on-field, while Aware Super is one of the best-performing and top award-winning funds in Australia off-field. The partnership spans both the Sixers’ BBL and WBBL teams.

Sixers fans will see Aware Super front and centre on the BBL team shirt this summer, in addition to matchday signage painting the SCG pink.

The partnership will also enable fan engagement opportunities across the summer of cricket, bringing Sixers fans closer to their heroes.

Established as First State Super in 1992 to provide superannuation options to NSW public sector employees, the fund opened its doors to all Australians in 2006. In 2020, it merged with VicSuper and WA Super to form one of the nation’s largest funds and was rebranded as Aware Super.

Head of Sydney Sixers, Jonathan Robinson-Lees welcomed the Aware Super team to the Sixers family.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Aware Super to the Sydney Sixers family.

“As a club we pride ourselves on strong social conscience and a commitment to leave our community in a better position than we have found it – and we see that Aware Super are firmly aligned with these values.

“We know that Aware Super are a leader in their field for a reason and we hope that their 1.1 million members translate to a million more Sixers fans!”

Aware Super’s CEO, Deanne Stewart, said the fund was delighted to partner with another top performer in the Sydney Sixers.

“We’re in no doubt this will be a winning partnership,” Ms Stewart said.

“We’ve been delivering strong long-term returns for our members for 30 years, but the Aware Super brand is young and this partnership provides a marvellous opportunity to let many more Australians know who we are and how they can benefit from joining our 1.1 million members.

“The Sixers’ values, competitive spirit and drive to always go one better make them ideal partners for us, with our focus on the performance we’re here to deliver for our members – providing them with great returns and service and the confidence that they’ll be able to enjoy their best possible retirement.”
