The Sydney Sixers are an Australian professional Twenty20 cricket team competing in the Big Bash League (BBL). Based at the Sydney Cricket Ground, the Sixers, along with the Sydney Thunder, succeeded the New South Wales Blues from the now-defunct KFC Twenty20 Big Bash.

Sixers fast bowler Stella Campbell has been selected in the Governor-General’s XI to meet the Indian Women’s team on 28 January, at Drummoyne Oval.

The Twenty20 fixture will lead into the Commonwealth Bank T20 Tri-Series between Australia, England and India, as all three teams prepare for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup starting 21 February in Sydney.

Campbell, 17, made her WBBL debut this season playing 13 of the 14 matches, taking five wickets at a tidy average under 30.

The teenage quick also recently made her Women’s National Cricket League debut for the NSW Breakers.

Campbell has also been selected in a Cricket Australia XI to play the Australian Women’s Cricket team, in a T20, on 27 January at Sydney Showground Stadium.

The Governor General’s XI match will be broadcast live on Fox Cricket, Kayo and ABC Radio. Entry to Drummoyne Oval is free, with the match beginning at 6:40pm local time.
