Australian superstar Alyssa Healy is set to remain a Sydney Sixer, putting pen to paper for the next three years.

A foundation member of the club, the new deal will keep the blazing right-hander in magenta until at least the end of WBBL|11.

In addition to six T20 World Cups, two Cricket World Cups, 11 WNCL titles and a Commonwealth Games gold medal, the 33-year-old is a two-time WBBL champion with the Sixers, lifting the trophy in WBBL|02 and WBBL|03.

Winner of the 2019 Belinda Clark Award, Healy is also a two-time winner of the ICC Women’s T20I Cricketer of the Year, claiming the honour in 2018 and 2019.

Named to captain Australia ahead of the Ashes in England earlier in the year, Healy is set to take the reins again next month, leading the side against the West Indies in the absence of Meg Lanning.

With 2976 runs to her name in the WBBL, the keeper-bat currently sits fifth on the list of all-time run-scorers in the competition.

Scoring more centuries than any other player in the league (5), Healy also claims the second-best strike rate (134.96) and the third-highest individual score in the competition to date (112 not out).

Notching 330 runs last summer, the right-hander was rewarded for her efforts, named in the WBBL|08 Team of the Tournament, marking the second appearance of her career, also named in the WBBL|04 season.

The first Sixer to reach the hundred game milestone, Healy remains the record holder for most matches played for the club, with 115 appearances to date.

Head of Sydney Sixers, Rachael Haynes said:

“Alyssa is a foundation member of the Sixers and has been part of the fabric of the club for a long time.

“Her contributions to the Sixers and to cricket in New South Wales have been immense and what she brings to the group, on and off the field is near unmatched.

“There was no way we were going to see Alyssa in any colour other than magenta. She’s a Sixer through and through.

The Sixers are set to open the Weber WBBL|09 season on Thursday, October 19 against the Melbourne Stars at North Sydney Oval.

Tickets for the entire WBBL|09 season are on sale now.

Sydney Sixers WBBL|09 squad: Jade Allen, Maitlan Brown, Erin Burns, Lauren Cheatle, Ash Gardner, Alyssa Healy, Emma Hughes, Jess Kerr, Kate Peterson, Ellyse Perry, Chloe Tryon.
