Sydney Sixers allrounder Ange Reakes has called time on her career, announcing her retirement from cricket earlier this week.

An inaugural member of the Sixers, Reakes will make her final appearance for ACT this weekend in their last WNCL match of the season.

A two-time WBBL champion with the Sixers (WBBL02, WBBL03), Reakes made 87 Big Bash appearances, enjoying three summers of success in magenta, producing back-to-back titles before joining the Stars in WBBL|04.

Reunited with her Sixers teammates ahead of the WBBL|07 summer, Reakes announced she would sit out last season following the birth of her first child.

Welcoming daughter Winnie with partner Courtney in August, the new mum returned to state cricket just four months after giving birth, taking the field for the Meteors in December.

A classy allrounder, the right-hander notched 595 runs across her 87 WBBL matches, as well as providing an option with the ball and athleticism in the field.

Sitting amongst the Sixers top ten highest run-scorers, Reakes joins the likes of club greats Ellyse Perry, Alyssa Healy, and Sara McGlashan on the decorated list.

Making her debut for NSW in 2009, the right-hander spent six years with the Breakers before moving to the nation’s capital ahead of the 2015/16 season – the team she would later captain.

A member of the one of the most-successful domestic sides in Australian history, Reakes won six back-to-back WNCL titles with NSW before moving to ACT.
