Australian car rental company SIXT has cleared the pickets by sealing two landmark deals with cricket NSW to become the official car rental partner of the Sydney Sixers.

The Summer of SIXT, will see the company feature in two Match-Day partnerships with Sydney Sixers, and will also take some of the BBL’s biggest-hitters into local communities.

Matthew Beattie, CEO of SIXT Australia, said the partnership with Sydney Sixers, allied with the love Aussies have for all sport – and the thrill of watching towering sixes in adrenaline-charged BBL matches – was pivotal in SIXT defining its place in the Australian car rental market.

“Our BBL engagement strategy is centred around supporting the code and ‘owning the six’ across the Thunder and Sixers games to not so subtly integrate our global brand into the Australian market through the sport that all Australians love”, said Mr Beattie.

SIXT Australia is an established network of vehicle rental industry experts with over 30 years’ experience in the category and over 160 locations nationwide. SIXT is an award winning and leading international mobility and vehicle hire brand, originating out of Germany. The SIXT network globally has a fleet of over 200,000 vehicles across more than 2,000 locations in 110 countries, offering rent, share, ride and subscribe products to consumers around the world.

The SIXT launch coincides with the unveiling of an initial 40 MG EV SUV’s and 25 Tesla Model 3 vehicles, making it one of the largest EV fleets for hire in Australia today, which will be available at key metropolitan SIXT locations.

“The launch of our SIXT EV fleet represents the start of the biggest shake-up of the car rental industry in Australia in years.  We are committed to 50% of our fleet being electric within 5 years, but giving Australians options right now to hire a car that is cheaper to drive, cleaner for the environment and easier to book,” Mr Beattie said.

CNSW General Manager – Commercial Experience, Ben Hirschfeld said SIXT and Sydney Sixers had hit the mark by forming what he described as a ‘winning relationship.’

“It’s obvious SIXT are passionate about going above and beyond for their clients and customers,” said Mr Hirschfeld.  “And we’re excited about their declaration that this is The Summer of SIXT because it provides further evidence they’re firmly committed to becoming part of the cricket calendar.

“SIXT has a great track record for providing its clients with the highest of standard rental vehicles, and we welcome their passion and involvement with the Sydney Sixers that also always aim to deliver. “
