The Sydney Sixers have scored a massive coup just days before the WBBL|07 fixture is announced with the signing of ICC Hall of Famer Lisa Sthalekar as their List Manager.
Sthalekar, who played 187 games for her country across all three formats and is in the ICC, Cricket Australia and CNSW Hall of Fame, will look after the playing list for both the BBL and WBBL teams.
Now a broadcaster with Channel 7 across domestic and international cricket, with the luxury of watching players from all over the world for a living, CNSW Head of Cricket Greg Mail believes Sthalekar is a great appointment.
“We couldn’t be happier to have engaged Lisa to manage the playing lists at the Sixers,” Mail said.
“Her cricket pedigree is obviously outstanding and Lisa is an exceptional person who will bring decades of knowledge and experience to the role.

“The fact she watches more cricket than most with her commentary roles and has had the chance to see plenty of talent from around Australia and across the world is a big positive.”
Sthalekar agreed with Mail, believing she was well equipped to assist the Sixers as they chase more titles.
“I am excited to join forces again with the Sydney Sixers and looking forward to working with both head coaches and the leaders within both sides,” Sthalekar said.
“I’ve been lucky enough to commentate on cricket and lots of T20 cricket around the world with various tournaments and with that I have been fortunate to see lots of players both here and overseas.
“I feel like I’m in a good position to assist both the Sixers WBBL and BBL teams to ensure that we have the right personnel within the squad to allow them chase more titles and keep lifting the bar in both tournaments.”
Meanwhile, the Sixers are on the lookout for a WBBL coach following long-term mentor Ben Sawyer’s elevation to a full-time gig with the Australian Women’s Team.
Fellow international star Alex Blackwell will manage the Sydney Thunder WBBL list, while a List Manager for the Thunder’s BBL team will be appointed in due course.
