Sydney Sixers stars Ashleigh Gardner, Alyssa Healy and Erin Burns have cemented their place in the Team of the Tournament on the back of outstanding individual performances by the trio.

Voted by the eight Head Coaches across the league, the Team of the Tournament celebrates the best players in the competition this season.

Topping the list of wicket-takers for the summer with 23 scalps to add to 339 runs (striking at a rate of 153.39), Ashleigh Gardner is one of the most in-form allrounders in the world currently.

Player of the Match on five separate occasions this season, Gardner’s best knock with the bat (85 from 48 deliveries) came against the Sixers crosstown rivals, the Sydney Thunder last week.

Despite missing the entire WBBL|07 season, Erin Burns has returned to the competition with flying colours, anchoring the Sixers middle order this summer.

The middle-order bat has notched 294 runs across the season with a strike rate of 147, averaging 36.75.

One of the best fielders in the competition, Burns’ heroics on the boundary have proved both match-winning and spectacularly entertaining.

Alyssa Healy rounds out the trio selected by the coaches.

Notching the highest score of WBBL|08 to date, 107 not out, the superstar continues to prove why she is one of the best of all time.

Forming a formidable opening partnership with Suzie Bates this summer, the duo put on a 151-run first wicket stand in Ballarat earlier in the tournament, with the keeper-bat collecting Player of the Match honours on two occasions.

Weber WBBL|08 Team of the Tournament:

Beth Mooney, Georgia Redmayne, Alyssa Healy, Ashleigh Gardner, Erin Burns, Amelia Kerr, Jess Jonassen, Amanda-Jade Wellington, Nicola Hancock, Megan Schutt, Molly Strano.
