Four Sydney Sixers players have been named in an 18-player Australian Women’s squad for the upcoming Commonwealth Bank Series against India.
Amongst the quartet is 19-year-old Northern Beaches fast bowler Stella Campbell who has earnt her first senior Australian squad selection after several strong seasons of development through the powerful NSW Pathways, Breakers and Sydney Sixers.
Iconic Sixers skipper Ellyse Perry, wicketkeeping star Alyssa Healy and destructive batter Ash Gardner are also part of the squad.
Australia and India will battle it out across all three formats, with the schedule including three One-Day Internationals, a historic day-night Test match at the WACA Ground and three Twenty20 Internationals.
National Selector Shawn Flegler said Campbell added to Australia’s bowling depth.
“We’re really confident with the squad that we’ve assembled and are pleased to be able to include Stella,” Flegler said.
“Stella is yet another young fast bowler to have come through the pathway and adds another layer of depth to an emerging pace bowling group. She’s a tall, bouncy fast bowler who we feel could be a real option throughout the series, particularly with the conditions in Perth.”
The tour is once again proudly presented by Commonwealth Bank, continuing their longstanding support of the women’s game, at all levels in Australia.
