Homestar Finance to feature on front of Thunder’s BBL kit this summer

Sydney Thunder is proud to announce that Homestar Finance, a multiple award-winning online home loan lender, has invested in some of the Big Bash League’s most prestigious real estate… as Principal Partner of Sydney Thunder for BBL|11 and onwards – their logo will be front and centre on Thunder’s playing shirts.

Homestar Finance’s decision to sign on as the Principal Partner of Sydney Thunder’s BBL team for the next three-years builds on an already strong relationship which commenced in 2017 – the summer when Homestar’s distinctive logo first featured on the men’s team’s playing shirt.

As further proof of the company’s commitment to the club, Homestar’s logo will also appear this season on both the Thunder’s BBL and WBBL squad’s hats and helmets.

Andrew Chepul, Co-Founder and CEO of Columbus Capital, stated Homestar was deeply proud to expand on its partnership with Sydney Thunder because of the positive impact sports such as cricket can have on Australian communities.

“Our Sydney Thunder sponsorship is driven by a passionate belief that Australian sport and cricket creates incredible positive impact for every fan, member and player,” said Chepul.

“We’re proud to increase our investment with our sponsorship and contribute to this extraordinary community.”

Since its establishment in 2004, Homestar Finance has provided clients with a no-frills 100% online home loan service that’s underpinned by market expertise, and the desire for their customers to feel ‘at home’ through the company’s personalized service offerings.

Over the last 17 years, Homestar has forged an enviable reputation for its smooth, fast customer application process, because it’s significantly reduced the hassle that comes with the ‘money side’ of home ownership. Quite notably, its competitive home loan rates also aim to help make the dream of Australian home ownership more affordable.

Ilias Pavlopoulos, Co-Founder and COO of Columbus Capital, said he was keen for the company to upgrade its support for Sydney Thunder as the organization possesses core beliefs that Homestar Finance firmly identify with.

“Homestar are deeply committed to making a genuine and impactful contribution to Sydney Thunder,” said Pavlopoulos.

“Their long-standing values of good sportsmanship, honesty, inclusivity and sense of teamwork firmly resonate with both their sponsors and their wider community – and we are glad to support them in the coming seasons.”

During its partnership with Thunder, Homestar’s support for the club has extended far beyond the cricket field with the company throwing its weight behind the BBL club’s community work, including:

– Homestar Finance donating a total of 54,500 meals to people in need across Thunder Nation through its commitment to the club’s official charity partner OzHarvest,

– Homestar Finance’s involvement as naming rights partner, and proud supporter, of the Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander T20 Cup since 2018

– Homestar Finance donating $30,000 to the Australian Red Cross during the BBL|09 Bush Fire appeal

Mandy Sly, Homestar’s General Manager (Operations), said the company was delighted to continue supporting community empowerment through sport.

“Homestar Finance are thrilled to extend our sponsorship for Sydney Thunder. We believe that sport has an outstanding ability to create positive, lasting change for the communities involved,” said Sly.

“And we want to support, encourage and empower Australian youth and athletic initiatives at every opportunity.”

Cricket NSW’s General Manager – Commercial Experience Ben Hirschfeld described Homestar’s decision to expand it partnership to become the club’s Principal Partner was a vote of confidence in the direction Thunder is headed.

“We’re tremendously proud to have Homestar Finance build upon its already strong relationship with Sydney Thunder to become our BBL team’s Principal Partner,” said Hirschfeld.

“They’re an established company that’s doing an incredible job to help make the Australian dream of owning a home more affordable and less stressful.

“Homestar’s highly regarded reputation for putting its customers first through its personalised service is very much aligned to the respect with which Thunder treats our Members and supporters.

“We also respect that over the last few years Homestar’s support of Thunder’s off-field endeavours to contribute to our community includes their providing almost 55,000 meals to people in need across Thunder Nation through OzHarvest; donating $30,000 to the Australian Red Cross during the BBL|09 bush fire appeal, and supporting our Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander T20 Cup since 2018.”

Homestar Finance is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Columbus Capital (ColCap) group.
