Ollie Davies and Tanveer Sangha among the best young players in BBL|10

Sydney Thunder breakout stars Ollie Davies and Tanveer Sangha have been named in cricket.com.au’s Young Gun XI.

The Young Gun XI is a side of the best players in the KFC Big Bash League aged 23 and under.

Davies made his BBL debut against the Perth Scorchers at Manuka Oval.

The highly-rated 20-year-old thrilled the Canberra crowd with three big sixes in a crucial knock. Thunder went on to win the game by seven wickets.

Having impressed on debut against the Scorchers, Davies made headlines when he smashed five consecutive sixes against the Melbourne Renegades, including four in a row off the bowling of Afghanistan star, Mohammad Nabi.

His scores tailed off and he finished the season out of Thunder’s best side, but Davies made a huge impact in BBL| 10 and announced himself as a player to watch for the future.

Talented leg-spinner Sangha has gone from BBL debutant to Australian squad member in a little more than two months.

The 19-year-old showed no signs of stage fright in his first taste of the big time and looks set to finish the season as the leading spin-bowling wicket-taker with 21 scalps and an economy rate of a touch over eight an over.
