Both of Alex Ross’ BBL|11 half centuries have come in front of the Thunder Nation, hitting 61* at Manuka Oval before an unbeaten 77 in Thunder’s return to Sydney Showground Stadium
To say Alex Ross has been in good form to start the BBL might be an understatement.
The hard-hitting right-hander sits fourth in the league’s batting rankings, with an enviable strike rate of 146, and is yet to be dismissed.

For some batters, a change of technique or routine can be attributed to such red-hot form, but Ross has taken a ‘less is more’ approach to this season which is paying dividends.
“I have been playing club cricket in Adelaide for Kensington, and played a couple of games for Northern District with Chris Green,” said Ross.
“I’ve just been going through the same processes that I normally do.”
One of the common themes in Ross’s two half centuries has been the support of a home crowd.
Both of his half centuries have come in front of the Thunder Nation, hitting 61* at Manuka Oval before an unbeaten 77 in Thunder’s return to Sydney Showground Stadium.
“When the noise is on your side it is a lot easier than hitting a nice shot and getting donuts from the crowd,” Ross joked.
“It’s awesome to play in front of a home crowd and I feel like our fans are behind the team, win, loss or draw – it is an awesome team to play for.”
Despite the close loss to the Stars earlier this week, Ross remains confident of Thunder’s chances for the remainder of the tournament.
“Three years ago when I signed with the Thunder I feel like we limped into the finals and did OK,” said Ross.
“The second year we felt we were a chance to win and then just fell over.
“This year feels like we have the team to win plenty of matches, and we are almost more disappointed if we don’t.”
