Sydney Thunder have today confirmed the venues for the club’s five home matches for the upcoming KFC BBL|13 season.

As previously announced, BBL|13 will feature a reduced 44-match schedule, with the Weber WBBL|09 fixture remaining at 59 games this season.

The reduced BBL schedule will see each club host five home matches, with the Thunder to play three games at Sydney Showground Stadium and two matches at Manuka Oval in Canberra.

As announced last week, the BBL|13 season will officially kick off on December 7, concluding with the BBL Final on January 24.

On the announcement of the venues, Head of Sydney Thunder, Andrew Gilchrist said:

“The club is pleased to today confirm our two home grounds for this season, with three home matches for our members and fans in Western Sydney, and two home matches for our supporter base in Canberra.

“Western Sydney is the heartland of the Thunder Nation and home to a large percentage of our member base as well as our network of community programs.

“Canberra equally remains an important part of the Thunder Nation. We’re always warmly received at Manuka, the facilities are top class, and it’s somewhere that our group love to play.

“It’s been crucial for the club to strike a balance that ensures we service our fans in both of these areas, this season and beyond, and we feel that we’ve found that balance for the upcoming season.

“We saw the Big Bash League back and better than ever before last summer and we know that Thunder fans have so much to look forward to in BBL|13.”

Further details regarding the upcoming season, including the complete KFC BBL|13 fixture and the club’s home venues for Weber WBBL|09 will be announced in due course.
