Thunder Nation have benefited from much needed financial assistance thanks to the HomeWorld Community Grant program
Clubs across the Thunder Nation have benefited from much needed financial assistance thanks to the HomeWorld Community Grant program. Five clubs received $1000 to fund the development of junior participant programs or initiatives that enhance the lives of their cricket community.
Congratulations to Cranebrook Cricket Club, Dundas United Junior Cricket Club, Hoxton Park Tigers Cricket Club, Lithgow District Junior Cricket Association and Wests Illawarra Cricket Club on receiving $1000 from the HomeWorld Community Grants program.
Cameron Doggett, Dundas United Junior Cricket Club, Junior Cricket Coordinator – “The funding is vital for small clubs. We compete against and are surrounded by larger junior clubs, who by comparison have more budget available to fund programs and equipment. The funding means we can support tour families by keeping registration costs low. It’s particularly exciting as this growth now sees more than half of our regular attendees being young girls”.
Robert Jobling, President, Cranebrook Cricket Club – “The Club purchased uniforms and equipment for our Thunder Girls Cricket program. This funding program is important as it helps remove financial barriers and has enabled our Club to run our Thunder Girls Cricket program at no cost to the participant”.
Recipients of the grant have used the valuable funding to purchase equipment, apparel or to fund participation programs that make cricket accessible to the whole community.
“HomeWorld is committed to supporting the growth and development of grassroots Cricket, it is great to see so many local clubs working hard to make the game more inclusive and accessible.
We congratulate these fantastic clubs on their hard work and dedication, and we hope the grants will help them develop further opportunities for their current and future players.”
