The Sydney Thunder is an Australian professional cricket team competing in the Big Bash League (BBL). Based at Sydney Showground Stadium, the Thunder, along with the Sydney Sixers, succeeded the New South Wales Blues from the defunct KFC Twenty20 Big Bash.

Head down to Phillip Oval, Canberra on December 11th for a BBL Open Training session ahead of our opening clash!

Sydney Thunder will be commencing their BBL|12 campaign at Manuka Oval on 13 December!

We would like to invite Thunder Members and Fans to an open training session to watch, get autographs and take selfies with your favourite Thunder stars! See them up close and personal before they take on the Melbourne Stars. There will be plenty of giveaways and an extended opportunity to meet the players after training.

When: Sunday 11th December 3:00pm-6:00pm

Where: Phillip Oval, Canberra

Who: Your Game 1 Sydney Thunder BBL Squad

Our open training session will come before our BBL|12 opener at Manuka Oval, Tuesday 13th December, against the Melbourne Stars. We will be looking to close out our first match with a win, bolstered by a first class squad featuring T20 World Cup winner Alex Hales and our own Thunder legend Chris Green. First Ball is 7:15pm AEDT, you can get tickets to the match here.
