Sydney Thunder partner with Burn Bright to deliver digital program

Sydney Thunder is committed to developing and empowering the next generation of young leaders across the Thunder Nation.

The Thunder Leadership Program is delivered to students at secondary schools across the Thunder Nation, with workshops focusing on team work, leadership, decision making and problem solving.

The program aims to inspire young leaders and help them develop a sense of self-confidence and community connection.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Thunder Leadership Program is now available online for teachers to implement in their classrooms.

Sydney Thunder has partnered with Burn Bright to help bring the Thunder Leadership program to life online.

Burn Bright is a social enterprise, non-for-profit organisation who facilitate student leadership, wellbeing programs and national camps in partnership with schools and organisations throughout Australia and New Zealand.

The online Thunder Leadership Program includes some elements of Burn Bright’s program, in addition to the Thunder Leadership content.

“We at Burn Bright are thrilled to have partnered with the Sydney Thunder to help deliver their Thunder Leadership Program digitally,” said Burn Bright COO Layton Fraser.

“The Sydney Thunder’s commitment and passion to give back to the Thunder Nation aligns perfectly with our ethos and values, and we are so excited to be on that journey with them.”

Sydney Thunder’s partner school, Westfield Sports High, who have produced current Big Bash stars Hannah Darlington and Usman Khawaja, were the first school to trial the new digital version of the program.

“Our goal is to inspire young leaders and help students discover their sense of belief and self-confidence,” said Head of Cricket Daniel Rixon.

“The online content is both engaging and informative and allows students to work through the modules at their own pace.”

Each module of the Thunder Leadership Program takes approximately 30 minutes to complete so can easily be included inside existing school timetabling. Teachers will also have access to their own dashboard to track student progress as well.

If you would like to register your school for the Thunder Leadership Program, please contact Sydney Thunder.
