The Sydney Thunder is an Australian professional cricket team competing in the Big Bash League (BBL). Based at Sydney Showground Stadium, the Thunder, along with the Sydney Sixers, succeeded the New South Wales Blues from the defunct KFC Twenty20 Big Bash.

Everything you need to know about this weekend’s fixtures at Sydney Showground Stadium

The Rebel Women’s Big Bash League action returns to Western Sydney this weekend, with five huge fixtures at Sydney Showground Stadium.

Sydney Thunder fans will have the chance to watch their heroes in action against the Adelaide Strikers on Saturday and reigning champions the Brisbane Heat on Sunday.

Saturday 31 October

Gates: 11:45am

Match 1: Sydney Thunder vs Adelaide Strikers (12:15pm start)

Match 2: Brisbane Heat vs Hobart Hurricanes (3:40pm start)

Match 3: Sydney Sixers vs Melbourne Stars (7:05pm start)

Sunday 1 November

Gates: 9:50am

Match 1: Sydney Thunder vs Brisbane Heat (10:20am start)

Match 2: Melbourne Renegades vs Sydney Sixers (1:45pm start)

TICKETS

General Public

Tickets must be purchased online in advance, with no box office sales on match day.

All patrons, including children, must purchase a ticket online for contact tracing purposes and safety management.

Thunder Members

Members of the Thunder Nation get free entry but must redeem their ticket using their Membership barcode as the password. Click here to redeem your tickets.

SAFETY AND RESTRICTIONS

– Please stay home if you have any kind of cough, fever, chills or any COVID-19 symptoms

– Try to keep a couple of cricket bat lengths (1.5M) away from other patrons, especially if they’re not in your social group

– Masks are encouraged, but it’s up to you

GETTING THERE

Sydney Showground Stadium is easily accessible by car and public transport.

Parking is available at P1 for $6 per hour, up to a maximum fee of $30 per day.

Pre-booked parking is available through SOPA.

Please note Showground Road and Grand Parade will be closed.

Regular trains, busses and ferries operate to Olympic Park every day.

Trains between Olympic Park and Lidcombe will run every 10 minutes until midnight.

Route 525 buses operate between Parramatta and Burwood, via Olympic Park.

Route 526 runs from the Olympic Park Ferry Wharf to Olympic Park.

Please be aware there will be a major event happening at Sydney Olympic Park on Saturday night. We suggest allowing plenty of time to get to Sydney Showground Stadium and pre-booking parking, if required.
