It was hectic preparation for the Year 11 student who did her HSC Advanced Mathematics exam a year earlier than most of her cohort around the state.

Phoebe shared what that has been like and her first few days in the Village:

Completing your first HSC subject in Year 11 …?

“I did Maths early this year which was just sort of get one subject out of the road. It was a bit of a challenge, but I got it done.”

“Planning three years into two was a bit tough, but we had a good group of students, so we could do it together.”

Crammer or planner?

“I’m a crammer, definitely.”

“Trying to do some study in the Village, been pretty busy lately … I haven’t been able to get much done, whether that’s my work ethic or not. Settling in and I’m sure I’ll get to work soon.”

What’s the Village been like?

“It’s been amazing, it’s been pretty fun. Everyone’s said it will wear off it hasn’t yet for me at least.”

“It’s pretty cool.”

“Golf simulator is always fun.”

‘Must haves’ in the Village?

“I brought my school gear because I’m trying to complete my first term of Year 12,” Phoebe said with a smile.

“I also brought my golf clubs for the golf day.”

“My Mum gave me an assorted 20 pack of chocolate which is nice so won’t tell the dietitian about that one. That’s just with a cup a tea at night, so all good.”

Most annoying in the Village?

“Someone hinted towards me, no I’m joking!”

“I try not to be too annoying. I think it’s an excitement thing that I get all excited.”

“We’ve got a pretty good team this year, there’s not many annoying people in it.”
