The Sydney Thunder is an Australian professional cricket team competing in the Big Bash League (BBL). Based at Sydney Showground Stadium, the Thunder, along with the Sydney Sixers, succeeded the New South Wales Blues from the defunct KFC Twenty20 Big Bash.

Daniel Sams selected for One-Day and T20 series against India

Sydney Thunder left-arm seamer, and Michael Hussey medallist, Daniel Sams has been selected in the Australian One-Day and T20 International squad to take on India in November and December.

He retains his place in the One-Day and T20 squads after touring with Australia for the first time to England in September.

Sams is one of 18 players selected for the three-match One-Day and T20 series starting with the first One-Day International starting on 27 November at the SCG.

The three One-Day Internationals and T20 Internationals against India will all be held in Sydney and Canberra.

The left-arm quick dominated last season’s BBL|09 and was key to the Finals run that took the Thunder to one game shy of the Final. Sams finished with a record-breaking 30 wickets at an average of 15.37.

The squad for the Vodafone Test Series will be chosen towards the end of the upcoming block of Marsh Sheffield Shield matches.

The National Selection Panel (NSP) has chosen the following Australian men’s squad for the Dettol ODI Series and Dettol Twenty20 International Series against India to start the summer of cricket:
