The 27-year-old, best known for his raw pace, enjoyed a strong back end of BBL|10 boosted by 4-22 at Perth’s Optus Stadium.
His nine wickets at an average of 13.33, and inch-perfect yorkers, helped Thunder qualify for the Finals in third position.
“I’ve really enjoyed my last two years (at the Thunder) and to be offered another two-year contract, I was really, really happy with that. Keen to sign,” said Doggett.
“Perth was a good start. It was my first game of the BBL for the Thunder last season (and) a good way to start my campaign.
“Unfortunately, we just fell short against the Brisbane Heat (in The Knockout) but hopefully we can go (a few) better and into the Final this year.”
At 25, Doggett was selected in the 2018 Australian Test squad to tour the United Arab Emirates, as an early indicator of the untapped potential he has since shown for the Thunder and Queensland at the domestic level.
Away from the BBL, this season he makes the big move from Queensland to South Australia after claiming the Shield with his home state in April.
Thunder’s BBL List Manager Tim Cruickshank said the quality of Doggett as a bowler was there for all to see.
“He can be really versatile in the role that he plays for the Thunder. We’re obviously really excited to have him back on board again,” Cruickshank said.

Doggett believes his variations and execution are key to his T20 cricket and being a regular member of the Thunder line-up in BBL|11.
“If I can keep hitting my yorkers like I was towards the back end of last year, I’ll take that and hopefully I can have a few new variations and bring something new,” Doggett said.
As a proud Aboriginal man of the Worimi people, it is also the diversity of the Thunder Nation which makes it such a special club to be a part of for Doggett.
“I’ve always said that I think the Sydney Thunder have a very well-balanced (club), with how they’re so inclusive of all kinds of cultures, not just the Australian Indigenous culture,” he said.
“It’s definitely a big part of the Sydney Thunder that means a lot to me as well.”
