All proceeds to help provide meals for those in need across the Thunder Nation
Sydney Thunder is auctioning limited-edition playing shirts to support OzHarvest and help raise valuable funds to provide 150,000 meals to those in need across the Thunder Nation.
OzHarvest is Australia’s leading food rescue organisation, collecting quality excess food from commercial outlets and delivering it directly to more than 1,300 charities supporting people in need across the country.
Thunder supporters have embraced OzHarvest over the past two seasons, with the club already raising funds to provide 116,478 meals.
Each member of the club’s BBL squad has signed their Indigenous playing shirt to be auctioned with all money raised going towards raising funds to provide more meals to those in need across the Thunder Nation.
The Indigenous playing shirts were worn in Thunder’s fixtures against the Hobart Hurricanes (11 January) and the Perth Scorchers (20 January).
Shirts start from $110 with every $1 raised helping to provide two meals.
“Thank you to Sydney Thunder for believing in OzHarvest and our mission to ‘Nourish Our Country’. We are so proud to be part of the Thunder Nation,” said Lisa Dainty, OzHarvest Community Fundraising Manager.
“This partnership supports our work in ensuring that good food does not go to waste and is delivered to those who need it most.”
